American Girl Store

Well I have been delaying my posts because I wanted to do them all in order, but then I fell behind!  So I will just post what's new and play catch up in later posts.

Yesterday, we spent the day in Denver at the American Girl store for Molly's birthday celebration!  She got AG gift cards from everyone...they must know she likes it!  I am always so impressed with how patient Molly is about things.  The traffic on the way up was horrible so it took longer than usual to get up there.  Whitney asked several times if we were almost there but Molly just waited.  She was so excited when we finally made it!

She picked out the things she wanted, which included a leash for her dog, sunglasses, an earring holder and closet.

Then she watched Molly doll get her hair done!

She stood there the whole time.

All the girls!

Went to the Disney store and Lego store afterward.

Organizing all her AG stuff.

I think Whitney may be ready for her own American Girl.  She loves when she gets to take care of Molly and hold her.  She's always very gentle with her.

My favorite days are when we get to hang out together as a family and don't have any time deadlines.  It was so nice to just hang around in the store just doing what the girls wanted to do without having to rush them.  The Lord has certainly blessed me with a wonderful little family.

Pizza Time!

I can't believe how fast time flies!  People always tell you to cherish the time you have with your babies because they'll be in school before you know it, and my how true that is!  I only have one year left with my baby Whitney.  This time next year she'll be in kindergarten!  I was reminded of time tonight while we were watching Toy Story 3.  In the movie, Andy grows up and is going off to college.  I was just bawling at the end thinking about when my kids are that age.  I pray the rapture happens before then!  In the meantime, I will enjoy watching my girls grow!

Fall time is the busy time for my photography business.  September and October for photographers is what April is to accountants!  These last two weeks came and went so fast.

I try to put a special time aside to let my girls cook or bake something each week and last week it was making pizza muffins!  It's nice when I find fun recipes that are easy enough for them to do by themselves.  Any time I do anything with dough, they want to help.  It's got to be the squishy feeling, who doesn't like playing with dough?!

While I was explaining to Molly how to spread the pizza sauce around, she said "I know how to do this part mommy, I saw it on Noodle and Doodle."  It was the cutest thing! I love how innocent my children are, they don't watch crazy cartoons, they watch educational ones, lol!

Putting the pepperoni's on!

A Busy Week

I'm already slackin on the blog posting!

Last weekend Molly and Whitney got to hang out with one of Molly's new friends.  Usually when we go to meet someone for the first time for a play date, we stay for an hour....this time we stayed for 3!  That first meeting can tell you a lot about a person.  Usually I find a couple things that prevent me from becoming really good friends with someone, comes with being an overprotective mom!  This time was different though, the little girl's mom and I really hit it off!  I had so much fun talking to her that the time just flew by!

I knew we were going to have some mutual interests when she picked Focus on the Family as our location for the play date!  It was just so encouraging to find another Christian mom like me.  She holds the same values, dresses modestly, speaks kindly, and was just so much fun to be around!  So here's to hoping we become great friends!

Molly had grandparents day at her school and her halmony (which means grandma in Korean) and her grandma came.  Our school president got up and spoke about the importance of a child's relationship with their grandparents and I couldn't have agreed more!  He mentioned how his mom was at his daughter's birth, first day of kindergarten, all her sporting events, her graduation and her wedding.  This is something that I want my kids to have because I didn't have it when I was growing up.  We never saw my dad's parents because they didn't live near us and we were only around my mom's mom for a short time.  This is something I'm praying about.

On to this last week....busy, busy!  It's amazing when you ask the Lord for something, how he just answers with showers of blessings!  I was wanting to do a couple more seniors and the Lord sent me 3 just this last week.  I had so many photo sessions this week, my body is just in shut down mode.  I've got aches all over!  One thing I love about being a newborn photographer is the workout part of it.  A lot of people don't realize how much we twist and turn our bodies to get those sweet babies into the perfect position.  It's like doing a 4 hour yoga class!

I was bummed that I didn't have any time to help decorate for our church's upcoming youth conference.  I did have an hour to spare Saturday morning though, and we got all 11 baskets/bags done!  How fun would it be to receive one of these?!  Everyone loves gift baskets!

We've made a tradition of taking our family up to a Rockies game every year.  This year, we barely made it before the season came to an end!  We don't take anything for the girls to do because we want them to watch it and start to learn what's going on.  I don't want to be one of those moms who brings something for her kids to do all the time if they are not interested in the activity at the moment.  Instead of catering to my children's every need, we try and teach them to cater to us and to respect us enough to listen.  If an adult says we're going to watch a baseball game as a family, then they do it....they don't bring along their ipad to be entertained.  Seems crazy to me that kids can't jump in a car and ride across town without having their TV's turned on or ipad's turned to their favorite show, whatever happened to talking?  Some of the best conversations we have with our kids are when we are in the car!  Anyway, we had a great time and the girls loved that they got to get Dippin Dots (a special treat they only get at Rockies games)!

Starting Up Again!

I tried to start blogging a few years back but I just never seemed to find the time to do it, so I'm trying again!  Since I only have one job now I'm thinking it may be easier to stay on top of this!

Ever since I was little I have always wanted to be a mom, but I didn't want to just be any mom, I wanted to be the best mom ever.  I think sometimes people mistake my facebook posts as braggy, but I really just want to inspire other moms to do more!  If you know anything about me, I'm not one that likes to brag, or be around people that brag.  All glory is supposed to go to God!  "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."  ~1 Cor. 10:31

When I moved out of my mom's house and into my husband's house I didn't know how to do anything!  When I say anything, I really mean it!  I didn't know how to do my own laundry, I didn't know how to cook, sew, clean, or do anything else that had to do with being a wife!  Little did Kyle know that he was marrying a useless woman.  I, however, married AMAZING!!  How did I get so lucky?  Every day I wake up to my life I just thank the Lord for his many blessings.  So I said all that to say that I have learned A LOT in the last 7 years.  I went from not knowing how to do anything to becoming a jack of many trades!  If you are just starting out in your marriage don't be discouraged by moms/wives that seem to have it all together!  If you are just starting out and you know how to do many things already, then you are a step ahead of the game!  My goal is to keep up with this blog so I can look back on many memories, but also to inspire other wives/moms!  "...With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."  ~Matt 19:26

So excited to do this!  Hoping this will inspire me to take more pictures of my own family on a daily basis, afterall, they are my world!
